To all 6th grade parents, this is to inform you of the new guidelines that the state of Texas passed last year regarding new immunization requirements. Beginning this year incoming 7th graders were required to get Tdap, meningitis, and varicella (or proof of chickenpox disease). So make sure if you are going to the doctor over the holiday or between now and the start of the next school year (2010-2011) you get these for your 6th grader. If your child has already had these immunization please furnish the school with a copy for their records. 7th graders will not be allowed to start next school year if they are not up to date on their immunizations. As a part of this process, students will participate in various activities related to the concepts of respect, tolerance, and anti-bias.
